participate is a joy - to share thrill of the hunt with human and equine friends, and of course to join the feasting after a successful hunt! She is riding Ace (registered as Kings Royal Mist). This is Ace’s fourth year participating in SCA equestrian, after a career being the heading horse for a calf and steer roping team, something not recommended for longevity of a horse’s hocks (!). He came to Macha at 16 – she is only his second owner, which tells you a lot about him as a valued equine partner. Ace loves SCA – Macha became certain of this when in his second competition year, he would drag her to the horse trailer when he saw its horse door was open. Ace also loves to serve and is happy to help others have fun at SCA equestrian events, either by helping them compete or by adding to the pageantry in processionals, progresses, and mounted town cries. With a less decrepit rider, he just could be the Hunt champion – but above all he too is full of joy to still be a part of the Hunt!!

6.  THL Thorkel Haraldsson

Thorkel is a Norman riding with Duke William’s conquering army. Thorkel is currently Kingdom Equestrian Champion of An Tir. His worthy steed “Stitch” has made great strides since last year. Inspired, as always, by his Lady Taradan, a native of his new homeland, Thorkel will once again pick up bow, javelin and spear to bring home the bacon (and other game).

7. THL Marguerite fitz William

Marguerite is courtier to Their Excellencies of Aquaterra and Varlet de Venerie.  She is a Norman-Welsh woman living in the Welsh Marches.  She regularly uses her duties of checking up on the tenants as an excuse to ride to the hunt.  She will be riding Ceffyl Benthycedig, an amazing horse who seems to change both color and size from event to event.
